Day 19: Discuss your first love.

From the earliest as I can remember, animals are my first love. I love animals, I wanted to be a veterinarian, then a zookeeper. I once wanted to set up a website that contains an alphabetic list of all animals in the world, so it would be easy for people to find information of any animals they looked for. I gave up after about 50 'A's animals. Eventually I wandered through choices of interior designer, photojournalist, wedding planner, and some other random careers. I forgot about my passion about animals because the life is happening and I had a lot on my plate.

I couldn't decide a major when I entered the college, I had no idea what I wanted. I thought about having a science career so I enrolled into undecided science major and had sampling of each majors that the college has. During the sampling period, biology was the only lecture I stayed awake through.

Hence, I became a biology major. That is still too broad, there are many fields within the major - cellular, molecular, genetics, ecologist, zoologist, micro-, macro-, and many more. I found an elective biology class, animal behavior. In that class, I fell in love with animals all over. I found my passion, my calling within animals and the environment.

I immersed myself into studies that geared toward zoology and I always felt excitement when I have to research about an animal for a class. Now, I am working toward to have a career that revolves around animals and environment.

So, the saying "you never forget your first love" is true. I never forgot mine (although it was ignored for a while).

Day 18: A best summer memory.

You can't really expect me to pick a memory. For me, summer always have meant travel. For longest time I can remember, I always travelled during summer.

It started with vacations up in mountains or down to next state to visit my grandmother. Or even flying or taking train to visit other set of grandparents who lived little further than my grandmother. I remember vacationing in mountains with parents. I usually went to a sleep-away camp during summers.

But the best memory is when I had a longer than a week travel. I went on a road trip across the United States a few times times with my parents, and once going to south.  Last year, I went on my own for the road trip around the United States and the recent summer, I went on the road trip from PNW to Texas. I went out of country nearly every summer during my undergrad years.

Those are my best summer memories. Whenever I think of summer, I think of traveling that I had done in past and what would be next. I store my summer memories in my mind file, by the year and by the location. I love the memory I have from the excitement of arriving the destination and explore the area. I just can't pick one best summer memory because I have too many ones.

Also, summers are when I meet people who become a huge part of my life.
