To celebrate the United States' birthday, I went to downtown with a couple of friends and enjoyed ourselves with a couple cups of beer. We enjoyed live bands and fireworks, always the best part of the United States's birthday. After that, we headed to a nightclub to continue our celebration.
We celebrated until the club closed for the night. All of us were in high spirits and hungry (I was really hungry) and we headed to the car only to discover that the window had broken. Yep, my purse and other two purses were missing. A bag of clothes was missing as well.
Way to end the United States' birthday; my phone, camera, hearing aids, wallet with some cash and cards, house keys, hand santizer, brand new ponytail ties, and my beautiful collection of pins were stolen.
We called police but they were too busy with settling down fights, riots and apparently a shooting that had happened a couple blocks away from where we were at. So, we waited until the next day to go to the police station. We waited for about six hours before finally able to fill out the police report.
Oh man, the experience was intense. I tend to put things off until the last minute but when this happened, I got up really early in the morning and did all necessary things such as cancelling cards and get new cards, replaced house keys, ordered new hearing aids, and filled out an insurance claim for phone. I did all of that before noon and before going to the police station. I felt really responsible and all grown up.
The funny thing about my phone, I had that phone only for a month before it was stolen. I lost my phone at a nightclub then the replaced phone was stolen right outside of another nightclub. Note to myself, DO NOT bring my phone to any nightclubs.
Anyway, during all of this stuff happened, I remembered a saying that somebody told me a while ago: "When shit happens, flush it away. Sometimes it will leave residue, just keep flushing." I believe this saying suits this situation pretty well. Stuff happens, just suck it up and do what you can.
